New trailer and clips for Cosmopolis

Cosmopolis has released a new trailer and a trio of new clips that only serve to confirm what we had first suspected: that David Cronenberg has created perhaps his most bizarre film to date.

The new trailer expands upon the previous two, mapping out the story of Robert Pattinson's billionaire, who discovers he had lost his entire fortune while embarking upon a crosstown limo journey. As the day continues, Pattinson's character begins to embrace his newly diminished responsibilities, and embarks upon a very dark journey indeed.

The new clips are just as unsettling, with the various characters speaking seemingly obtuse dialogue in a very clipped, detached manner. Coupled with the disturbing imagery of the trailer, it all adds up to a profoundly unusual experience.

Take a look at the clips and trailer below…

As you can see, it's not your average multiplex fare, and goodness knows what those Twi-hards will make of Pattinson's curious performance. What we can say however, is that we're deliciously intrigued.

Adapted from the novel by Don DeLillo and co-starring the likes of Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche, Samanthan Morton and Jay Baruchel, Cosmopolis will premiere at this year's Cannes festival, with a UK release date to be confirmed.
