First official look at Scarlett Johansson in Under The Skin

Sexy Beast director Jonathan Glazer hasn’t released a feature since 2004’s Birth. But with his latest movie now in post-production, he’s hoping to get Under the Skin of viewers once more...

Above is our first official look at Scarlett Johansson, who stars as a man-eating alien disguised as a beautiful woman - a role that will give Natasha Henstridge a run for her money as cinema’s most desirable space invader.

"OK, yes I do play an alien who is wearing my own skin. But it's actually not a science-fiction film; it's sort of a film that asks existential questions and much more complex than the logline," said Johansson in a recent interview.

Sounds like Species by way of Sartre.

First official images of Frankenweenie posted online

What do you do if you're a Tim Burton character and your dog dies? You reanimate it, of course - and the first official images of Victor Frankenstein doing just that to his pet Sparky have appeared online.  Burton told Entertainment Weekly, which published the images of the stop-motion animation Frankenweenie, that the film is about the enduring story of a child and his first pet.  “It just tries to keep that idea of a very, simple pure relationship. Mix that with the Frankenstein myth and it causes problems,” he said.   “It has its good side and repercussions,” Burton added. “Ultimately, we try to go with the slightly more positive aspects of keeping that relationship going.”   Burton lost his job at Disney for making a live-action short of the same material in 1984. However, that film helped open doors for his career as a director.  “I don’t know, they got freaked out or something, but they still allowed me to make the film. Even though I was frustrated about the release - or not release of it - it was still a great experience, and did a lot for me, so I couldn’t really complain,” Burton said.  Frankenweenie opens 5 October 2012.
